PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE DISCLOSURE

The curriculum for programs customarily leading to licensure at Ameritech College have been designed to meet the licensure/certification requirements in Utah as well as preparing students to apply for licensure exams in the State of Utah.  The licensure boards in each state are responsible for establishing the requirements for licensure/certification for their state. Students who intend to return or move to any state other than Utah need to review the professional licensure disclosures pertaining to their program and consult with the state professional licensing board.  The state professional licensing boards make the ultimate decision as to whether or not an individual will be eligible to sit for licensure based on the rules and regulations in place at the time the individual submits their application for licensure. Licensing requirements in Utah may not be recognized as sufficient to obtain a license in any other state.

When I was searching for a nursing school, Ameritech seemed like the best option, as the accelerated program would get me working as a nurse to support my family in the shortest amount of time possible. Now that I’m a couple semesters into the program, I have to say that I am very happy with my decision. I’ll be a nurse very quickly, and the education that I’m receiving is excellent. My instructors have been approachable, caring, and invested in my success. I would do it all over again in a hurry!

The term “accelerated” is used in various ways to characterize nursing programs. Some use “accelerated nursing program” or “accelerated RN program” to characterize a program that can be completed quickly, such as our Associate of Science in Nursing degree that can be completed in as little as 18 months. However, in the most technical sense, an Accelerated nursing program is a second-degree nursing program designed specifically for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in any non-nursing field. Ameritech offers an Accelerated BSN program that can be completed in 18 months.

An accelerated nursing program allows you to obtain your nursing degree in a shorter time period than a traditional program by using your previous bachelor’s degree in any non-nursing field. However, for students who do not have previous college coursework, we offer several other options for students to complete their degree and become qualified for RN licensure in as little as 18 months. All of our nursing programs are known for their speed and academic rigor. Students are generally on campus 2-3 days per week depending on the semester and the program (with Accelerated BSN and Direct Entry MSN programs having a different campus schedule) and should anticipate a 40+ hour per week commitment.

Clinicals schedules can vary greatly, but we do our best to work with our students’ individual schedules.
