Nursing Leadership During an American Tragedy

To say Michelle Wall loves nursing is an understatement. It’s her passion. Michelle believes that everything she had learned in her nursing career – from graduating from Ameritech’s nursing program in, 2012 to the assignments she took as a traveling operating room nurse – was preparing her for the events of October 1, 2017.

The night of the Las Vegas Shooting on October 1, 2017 – the deadliest mass shooting in US history – Michelle was the Charge Nurse of the Operating Room at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada’s largest hospital and trauma center. That night, Michelle ran ten operating rooms for twelve hours straight, directing OR staff and surgeons, caring for countless patients and ensuring steady stream of supplies needed.

Michelle believes that Ameritech College of Healthcare provided a solid foundation for her successful nursing career. “The education and instruction I received from Ameritech Nursing Program prepared me with the tools and skills needed to be a competent and confident nurse. I am so grateful for this program and feel honored and proud to be an Ameritech graduate.”
