COVID-19 Update:Rising To The Challenge

Whether you’re a current or prospective student, the world needs competent, well-trained healthcare professionals more than ever. Ameritech is committed to helping our students move forward in their education, while keeping our community safe as our first priority. See below for the latest updates on what we’re doing to rise to the challenge.

Report an Exposure or Diagnosis

All students and employees must report any instance of close contact* with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 to the college. If you have a known exposure or diagnosis, you must remain off-campus until you receive further guidance from the college.

Ameritech College follows CDC Guidelines for Quarantine and Isolation.

The definition for close contact is found here.

The best way to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading the virus is to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, wash hands frequently, wear a mask, and do not come to campus if you have symptoms.

Get Vaccinated

  • Be exempt from quarantine after a known exposure, if asymptomatic
  • Skip COVID testing, except for after a known exposure or when experiencing symptoms

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available in the United States to anyone 12 years old and older. The vaccines are free. If you have any questions about the vaccines or how to get them, reach out to your healthcare provider, seek information from trusted and credible sources, talk to others who have already been fully vaccinated, make the choice that best protects yourself and others, and get vaccinated.

The State of Utah Health Department and the CDC offer the following information regarding vaccines:

Wear a Mask

Masks are required in shared indoor spaces on campus, regardless of vaccination status. See the CDC’s recommendations on using masks to slow the spread of COVID-19 in high transmission areas.

Stay Home When Sick

If you’re sick, stay home and avoid close contact with others. Call your health provider before arriving for medical care.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing and sneezing.

If you’re sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, follow these CDC guidelines: COVID-19: What to Do if You Are Sick
