NCLEX Wednesday #3

NCLEX_wednesday_template

It’s that time of the week again! In this week’s NCLEX Wednesday, we wanted to share some general information about the NCLEX exam itself. We find that context helps when studying. Onto the tips!

  1. The questions on the NCLEX are primarily application and analysis questions —- You have the knowledge, now what are you going to do with it —– type questions.
  2. Remember that every question counts! You should give each individual question (and answer options) your full attention and consideration.
  3. You are still in the game as long as the computer continues to give you test questions, so focus on answering them to the best of your ability.
  4. The NCLEX primarily tests your judgment and discretion (it assumes that you have knowledge gained during nursing school and that you understand that knowledge).
  5. The NCLEX tests your ability to think critically and solve problems. This will require an analysis of client data, an understanding of the condition or disease process, and the ability to determine the best action or nursing judgment that will most effectively meet the client’s needs.

P.S. We love feedback. Post to our Facebook page or give us shout on twitter with comments or requests for specific information you’d like to see in the series.

Happy studying, and see you next week!
