6:48p ET December 8, 2009 (Business Wire)
The AmeriTech College Nursing Program in Draper, Utah, is pleased to announce its recent grant of candidacy for accreditation through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
NLNAC is the nationally recognized, specialized, accrediting agency for post-secondary programs in nursing education.
"NLNAC is the ultimate standard in nursing education, and this grant of candidacy is a major step in a process that will demonstrate the quality of nursing education AmeriTech College provides," Program Director Julie Aiken said.
"AmeriTech College is committed to providing the healthcare community with the best nursing graduate possible," CEO Ken Bentley added. "There is a great demand from healthcare providers, as well as students seeking entry into our program. Our progress in the accreditation process, as well as a first-time pass rate of 92% on the NCLEX (national registered nursing licensing exam) for 2009 demonstrates our commitment to producing the finest nurses available."
NLNAC accreditation is a multiyear process that involves proving that the College has met six national standards in the areas of administrative capacity, faculty and staff, students, curriculum, as well as resources and outcomes.
The AmeriTech College Associate Degree Program in Nursing admitted its first students in August 2006, and currently admits 50 students every 16 weeks.
"Because of AmeriTech's ability to start classes frequently, our prospective students will generally begin the program within 16 weeks of enrollment," Julie Aiken stated.
