Nursing
AmeriTech College offers an RN program that prepares students for an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing which enables graduates to apply for the NCLEX exam for registered nursing.
Students spend a portion of their time in clinical training in local hospitals and other facilities. This training gives real-life experience gained from working with health care professionals and is an invaluable aid for our students. AmeriTech College also utilizes a Meti Human Patient Simulator. This simulator will give our students experience in true-to-life scenarios and immediate patient feedback simulating a patient's response to various treatments.
Financial Aid
Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. A variety of resources exist for financial aid. Our financial aid specialists are available to each student for individual consultation and counseling.
Accreditation
Ameritech College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) a national accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the United States Department of Education.
Approval
The AmeriTech Nursing Program is also approved by the Utah State Board of Nursing for operation within the State of Utah. As of December 10, 2008 the Nursing Program has been assigned probationary approval from the Utah State Board of Nursing. Probationary approval allows graduates to sit for the NCLEX exam and obtain licensure as a Nurse in the State of Utah. As a condition for probationary approval by the Utah State Board of Nursing, AmeriTech College must obtain programmatic accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) by December 2010 (in addition to its current institutional accreditation through ABHES). The NLNAC is nationally recognized by the Secretary of the United States Department of Education as the accrediting agency for postsecondary and higher degree nursing programs. Additionally all nursing schools operating within the State of Utah must maintain a minimum a minimum level of NCLEX-RN pass rate for first time test takers based on a level within 5 percentage points of the National Average. Failure to comply with these standards may result in loss of probationary approval.
NLNAC Candidacy
On December 8, 2009 the AmeriTech College Nursing Program in Draper, Utah, announced its grant of candidacy for accreditation through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
NLNAC is the nationally recognized, specialized, accrediting agency for post-secondary programs in nursing education. NLNAC accreditation is a multiyear process that involves proving that the College has met six national standards in the areas of administrative capacity, faculty and staff, students, curriculum, as well as resources and outcomes.
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) supports the interests of nursing education, nursing practice, and the public by the functions of accreditation. Accreditation is a voluntary, self-regulatory process by which non-governmental associations recognize educational institutions or programs that have been found to meet or exceed standards and criteria for educational quality. Accreditation also assists in the further improvement of the institutions or programs as related to resources invested, processes followed, and results achieved. The monitoring of certificate, diploma, and degree offerings is tied closely to state examination and licensing rules and to the oversight of preparation for work in the profession.
